Reflection for Trinity Sunday…May 30, 2021

By Carol Craven, Notre Dame Associate

Today, we are reminded how much God loves us.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

God the Father:

ABBA Father… The God who created each of us and the universe out of love. We are created in God’s image to love. As the beloved of God, we are called to love under all conditions .We are to do all things for the Glory of God. We are called to be witnesses to God’s love.  How do we know God? “Be still and know that I am God.)”  (Psalm 46; 10.)

The Son of God:

Jesus… The Word made flesh. As the Word, Jesus calls us to create community. In community, “As there is one loaf, so we, although there are many of us, we all share in the one loaf, are one single body, (Corinthians10:17) Jesus told us: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”  “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Mark 12: 30-32.) “Love one another as I have loved you.” (John 15:12.) Jesus shows us the way.

The Spirit of God:

God’s Spirit fills the hearts of the faithful. The Holy Spirit manifests through the fruits of ‘love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness, and self-control.’ (Galatians 5:22.) When we are baptized we receive the Spirit of Jesus that creates in us a sacred space. It is in this space where we develop relationships with each other and all of creation. Come Holy Spirit help us to love.

How have I loved today?
