For Immediate Release (July 12, 2023) — The Notre Dame Sisters proudly come together to celebrate Sr. Joyce Rezac as she commemorates an inspiring 50 years of devoted service as a member of the Notre Dame community. Sr. Joyce’s unwavering commitment to education and her tireless efforts in uplifting others have made a significant impact on the lives of many.

Born in 1951 in Loma, NE, Sr. Joyce is the cherished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Rezac. Growing up in a nurturing environment, she was instilled with values of compassion, love, and a passion for lifelong learning. Her educational journey began at Bishop Neumann Central High School, where she excelled academically and graduated in 1969.

In pursuit of higher education, Sr. Joyce spent the year 1969 as an affiliate while attending and residing at Creighton University. Her time at Creighton further deepened her intellectual curiosity and ignited her desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

In 1971, Sr. Joyce answered the call to religious life and entered the novitiate of the School Sisters de Notre Dame. Her commitment to service and education led her to graduate from Creighton University in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree, equipping her with the knowledge and skills necessary to inspire future generations.

Sr. Joyce embarked on her teaching career at Roncalli Catholic High School in the 1974-1975 school year. For 18 years, she dedicated herself to educating young minds in the field of mathematics, leaving an indelible mark on the students she taught. Her passion for teaching extended beyond Roncalli, as she also spent three years teaching at Bishop Neumann in Wahoo, NE.

Eventually, Sr. Joyce’s journey led her to Loveland, CO, where she continues to serve as an ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor for adults. Her dedication to empowering individuals through education shines brightly as she guides her students on a path to success and self-sufficiency.

As we celebrate Sr. Joyce Rezac’s 50th jubilee, let us honor her lifelong dedication to education and her profound impact on the lives of countless individuals. Her commitment to learning and her compassionate spirit have shaped minds and transformed communities.
