Reflection for the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time…August 4, 2024
by Sr. Dorothy Rolf, ND
The Gospel of John 6, 24-35
This is an inspiring and challenging text. The crowd was looking for Jesus, not because they saw signs, but because they ate the loaves and were filled. Think of a time when you desired something that you felt was not Jesus’s desire for you.
When realizing what Jesus’ desire for you was, did you feel Jesus saying to you, “do not work for food that perishes but for that which endures for eternal life?”
Today, how do you respond to Jesus? Any change in your life and relationship with Jesus, as well as with your family and friends?
Take time in prayer to ask Jesus to speak to your heart this week.
What is Jesus’ response to you?
