Luke 13 13:22-30

Competition:  we all want to win; some, of course, will lose.

VICTORY-DEFEAT

JOY-PAIN

BIRTH-DEATH

LIFE IS ALL OF THESE.

Jesus knew joy…and tears…He knew birth…and life…and death.

After the Crucifixion, Jesus rose from the dead!  That’s what His life was all about.

Throughout Luke’s account of Christ’s life, as we see again in today’s Gospel reading, Luke reminds us that Jesus taught us how to really live, so that we can know joy which runs so deep that no disappointment can fully squelch it…and when our successes and accomplishments disappear, we still have what Jesus had:  LIFE!!
