Gospel Lk 6:27-38
Jesus says to the many, I give you a new commandment “Love one another as I have loved you,” In the Gospel message today the Lord tells us exactly how to love one another. It is easy to love those we know and are kind to us, but the Lord says to love our enemies. Do good to those who hate you, curse you, or mistreat you. Pray for them. “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.”
As you go about your week, say something nice to the colleague, co-worker, or neighbor who has gossiped about or has mistreated you. Greet the person who always looks away or ignores you. Donate to Goodwill or the food pantry. Show mercy and kindness to someone who has hurt you. The Lord will judge us by how we have shown mercy, kindness, and compassion to others. May you bless another in a way that the Lord has blessed you. Have a good week.
