EXODUS 34:4B-6, 8-9
Early in the morning, Moses went up to Mt. Sinai carrying two stone tablets, as God had commanded. The Lord appeared crying out: “The Lord, the Lord, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity.” Moses implored: “… Oh Lord, do come along in our company…pardon our…sins, and receive us as your own.”
2nd READING: 2 CORINTHIANS: 13:11-13
“Brothers and Sisters, rejoice. Mend your ways, encourage one another, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.”
Is this not our greatest desire? To have the Lord come to us. Let us greet the Lord as Moses did. Let us pray to the Lord for His help in mending our ways so that we may live in peace. Let us pray for His forgiveness. And let us most fervently pray: “Lord, receive us as your own.”
